American Sign Language is the language of deaf and hard of hearing people in the US, Canada, and many other countries in the world.

 

There are many other types of sign language, (just like there are spoken languages), such as: British Sign Language, French Sign Language, Chinese Sign Language and Spanish Sign Language.

Sign Language is made up of hand and arm movements as well as facial expressions, which play a huge role in communication.
